Fellow Patriots;
Remember how we felt the first time we went to Washington?
It was September 12, 2009, and I so vividly recall the wave of emotion that washed over me when we walked onto First Street from Constitution Avenue, an unlikely band of tea partiers from dark blue New York City, and a sea of a half-million patriots stretched out before us almost as if in a dream. Stars and stripes as far as the eye could see, and though our five busloads of Staten Islanders were an almost immeasurably small contribution, I was so proud of us, so proud that we were going to be a part of one of the most remarkable episodes in American political history.
One of our goals that day was to deliver a message to Barack Obama and his solidly Democratic Congress: HANDS OFF OUR HEALTHCARE! But of course, as is well-documented, Obamacare was rammed through Congress in the dead of night.
On March 23rd, it will be two years since Barack Obama signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, a budget-busting, job-killing bill that almost nobody read and that Nancy Pelosi, then Speaker of the House, told us had to be passed in order to figure out what was in it. On March 26th, 2012, three days of oral arguments will begin, as the Supreme Court hears one of the single most important cases in a century. They will rule on the constitutionality of Obamacare, and they will ultimately decide whether or not the federal government, installed by the people to protect the God-given rights of the people, has the authority to dictate -- TO DICTATE -- that free Americans purchase a product they may not wish to own. It is called the individual mandate, and is so antithetical to our freedoms that we are forced once again to rise, to stand as free Americans and ensure that our voices are heard.
Please join us on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. Buses will leave from Marsh Avenue, behind the Staten Island Mall at 7:00 AM sharp. Since we are partnering with Americans for Prosperity in this effort and they are able to secure sponsors, tickets can be purchased for only $10.00 per person. Join tens of thousands of patriots from around the country to tell Barack Obama: "HANDS OFF OUR HEALTHCARE!"

This event will be just the beginning of the Staten Island Tea Party's election season; we intend to be very active, and as always, our personal vow is to keep you informed and engaged. Our forefathers sacrificed their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to give us a republic. And yes, Dr. Franklin, we intend to keep it.
