Statement by Michael Grimm on
Passage of Healthcare Legislation
Staten Island, NY – Michael Grimm, a Republican candidate for Congress in New York’s 13th district, a former FBI Special Agent and decorated Marine Corps veteran of Operation Desert Storm, issued the following statement on the passage of the healthcare legislation.
“It is a very sad day for all Americans when bribery and backroom deals beat the will of the people. Make no mistake about it - that is exactly what Nancy Pelosi had to do in order to get this disgraceful piece of legislation passed.”
“The only thing that is even more unfortunate is that Congressman McMahon did nothing to actively stop it. Sure he voted no, but did he fight Nancy Pelosi or try to secure more no votes, he did not.”
“The residents of Staten Island and Brooklyn deserve better. Actions speak louder then words. When I am elected to Congress this November, I will fight tooth and nail to repeal this trillion dollar - job killing - anti American legislation.”
